Welcome, and update!
Welcome to your bigger, better photomanipulation newsletter. We are pleased to bring you up-to-date information about things that are going on in the community. It's been a busy few weeks, and we have a lot to share with you!
Direct link requirements on DDs
I spoke with $fourteenthstar and $Moonbeam13, and we decided that you should no longer have to put direct links to stock pictures in order to get a DD. So, you no longer need to direct link your stock pictures for DD purposes. (You DO still need to credit stock, though!) However, many groups still require those direct links for submissions, and that decision is entirely up to the group administrators. We hope this change will help make suggesting and posting DDs easier. 
Project Comment InterviewsEvery two weeks, we will be interviewing commenters and volunteers at #ProjectComment, specifically revolving around their life on deviantART and, the purpose of #ProjectComment, constructive comments.

What is this business?!
This is a small update on what's going on around the literature community, that's what this business is. The idea is to try and make the community more readily accessible for everyone, whether you're new or have been here for a while.
Please note: these updates will not be all-encompassing in terms of community happenings, as the community is quite frankly rather large. Instead, this article will focus specifically on things that are currently ongoing, or happened within the past fortnight. Hello all!
In the first week of March (4th-10th), we are hosting a week at #projecteducate based on poetry forms. During this week, we would like to invite members of the community to come write informative/ educational articles to contribute to this week.
You can write articles:
- About specific poetry forms (with featured examples)
- "How to" guides on writing specific forms.
- Interviews with dA poets who focus on specific forms
- Art features (i.e. A collection of concrete poetry)
- Famous form poems/poets
- Workshops/ Prompts/ contests based on a form
These are just suggestions!
If you are interested in writing an article, please drop a note entitled "PE Week" to #CRLiterature with an outline of what you intend to write. We are planning this in advance; giving you the chance for you to draft an article- which we are more than happy to review prior to

As the old year begins to fade into the sunset, it is customary to reflect on the passing year and make plans for the upcoming one.  Some do this in the form of resolutions, some people make action plans, some people just swing into the new year the same way they swung out of the old one :) Whatever way you intend to welcome in 2013, I hope you're surrounded by love and that you do it safely!

The Alliance is a project group intended to encourage visual and literary artists to work together. I've felt for some time that the dA Literature Community can at times be somewhat insular - to its detriment. We in the Lit Community are also sometimes prone to griping about the lack of exposure our work receives when compared to that of visual artists. So in the spirit of ^thorns brilliant Complaint Challenge

The Literature Community ExperimentThis is a typical example of a ^Beccalicious shower pondering! The idea of this is to try and bring together as many people as possible all in one journal, but not for the sake of making a big number, but to encourage interaction and share useful tidbits. We often say the "literature community" has drifted apart over the past few years and this is just one attempt to try get people to come back together. It's a little hippy, perhaps a far-fetched idea, which is why I am calling it an "experiment". This could be successful and could be a complete fail- only you guys and your efforts can decide its fate!

I always love seeing your feature journals, and I'm not just saying that cos I've been featured before. You always describe the art of an artist in such a unique and characteristic way. If it were me, all I could say would be that something is beautiful, or cute, cos my english sucks like that XDD Makes me literally want to leap into that deviant''s page and look at everything in that person's gallery, the way you describe them, yet what you say is so fitting! :la:

Nah I like them. THey're to the point, and easy to read. This wouldnt' apply to me, but it gets a bit boring/less persuasive if it's longer, and some people have the :icontoolongdidntreadplz: approach XD
