Death by Abomination Barf

Journal Entry: Sun Jan 12, 2014, 6:05 AM
Maybe a bit late but I figured there's a few small things I'd like to do this year that could count as resolutions. They might all seem like useless unimportant stuff but the things that really pertain to 'improving my life' shouldn't be resolutions but self-evident goals anyway.

1. Finish The Wheel of Time.

I mean seriously, I've got like four and a half books left and I could have been done ages ago. So pull yourself together and read. :stare:

2. Play more Oblivion.
As much as I dislike the game for several reasons, I still think it's a great game and I'd like to finally get more into it than maybe just 30 or 40h of gaming time. Particularly on my new (well by now not so new anymore) laptop where I can actually enjoy full graphic settings it should be awesome. :B

3. Finish Darksiders II in Nightmare Mode.

Yep, you might know I've started that mode a while ago but then the City of the Dead....kinda did its name justice. :paranoid: Darn Abominations. Anyway, I've already restarted and am resolved to get through this time.

4. Complete AT LEAST one proper piece of art per month.
That should easily be doable. Last year it was five minutes of drawing each day but I think it makes more sense to do it like this.

5. Play more games with my hubby.

Because Super Mario 3D World and currently Rayman Legends reminded me how much fun it is to game with him and we just don't do it enough.

Did you guys make any resolutions? I'd love to hear. :B

Nice resolutions, I might copy you on Darksiders, been meaning to replay it and that sounds like a challenge...
And on another note, bit of advice you can ignore if wanted. If you want a game to play with your husband, I'd actually reccomend Minecraft. For one, it's a brilliant game to play with others, and secondly the creative arty side I think would really suit you, and it's something that doesn't get old, as you can keep changing, building new designs, adventuring, farming, its peaceful and yet exciting. If you do do that though, two things: Don't get the console version, and set yourself a project or goal to start off with, like recreating the City of the Dead, or Windhelm etc. You'll find yourself lost for hours, gathering all the materials, and planning the design. It takes a long time, but the effort is worth it for the sense of achievement.

That does sounds nice but while we have two laptops we can only use one of them for gaming. The other one has...issues. xD
So any kind of PC multiplayer doesn't work. :/

You'd be surprised, MC runs on pretty much any PC, the settings and textures are adjustable

That's not the issue. My fiancé's laptop is pretty strong, it's just rather old and has all kinds of problems, such as automatically shutting itself off after 5-10 minutes of gaming. No matter what game. Trust me, we've tried to fix it but no luck.

MC is an .exe that runs off Java, its not like most. Try the classic version for free on the website, it uses the base programming.

My resolutions are:
- to make more art, painting or drawing or whatever
-to spend more time with my friends (I've been back in Chicago for 3+ mos now and I've hardly seen any of them)
-and towards that end, I want to get back into WMA. The group I trained with has their own place now.
- to try and get my gpa up past 3.6. I know that doesn't actually matter, but I'm curious to see if I can.
- to get my sleep cycle back towards normal. I'm staying up way too late and then sleeping until noon or later. bleh!
I should probably have more, but thats my list for now.

Right? ^^
While I've managed to also read during the day lately, I've made it a habit to read at least a few pages in bed before going to sleep. Even when I'm very tired...a couple pages I can always manage. ^^
